Egypt Uncovered (2022)

Day 1

Welcome Cocktail Reception

Arrive in Cairo & Airport Transfers to the hotel for our welcome evening where you will get to know your travel mates.

Day 2

Pyramids & Camel Ride

Today we will visit one of the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World, the Great Pyramid of Giza. Giza Plateau is also home to the Pyramids of King Chephren and Mercenus, the Great Sphinx, and the Valley Temple. While by the pyramids, we’ll also learn about how essential oils were used in ancient Egyptian culture and how papyrus was made. Afterwards, we will get the chance to ride a camel with the pyramids as our background – and have a photoshoot to capture the incredible moment!

On our way back to the hotel, we will stop at a special shop where we can design our own “cartouche” necklaces. The rest of the day will be yours – take the opportunity to explore Zamalek, the area around the hotel and arguably the trendiest in the city.

Day 3

Egyptian Museum & Shopping in the Bazaar

Visit the world famous Egyptian Museum containing the largest collection of ancient Pharaonic antiquities in the world. With over 125,000 artifacts, including the spectacular exhibit of King Tut, you’ll be in awe.

Later, we will stroll through the Khan el Khalili Bazaar in historic Cairo for incredible gifts, and will enjoy a tea as we soak in the bustling energy of Cairo. The rest of the evening will be yours to explore or relax.

Day 4

Jet-set to Aswan & Temple of the Goddess Isis

After breakfast, we will take a short flight to Aswan.

Today, we will travel back in time to when the great gods and goddesses were worshipped. On our private guided tour of the Philae Temple, located on an island, we will explore the ancient site built to honor goddess Isis, the mother of Horus and wife of Osiris, best known for her symbolism of peace, beauty, motherhood, and healing. Surrounded by beautiful water, the island features ruins dating back to 690 BC and serves at the perfect place to connect with your own strength and femininity.

We will then take a boat down the Nile where we will get to take in the gorgeous views, including animals on the river banks and birds soaring overhead. You’ll feel like you’ve traveled to a remote paradise! We will arrive in a Nubian Village community, where we will try local Nubian coffee or smoke shisha, and enter an authentic Nubian home to learn about the culture. Before we head back to the hotel, we will walk around the Nubian market filled with local crafts by Egyptian artisans and savor the tastes of real, authentic Nubian cuisine.

Take the rest of the evening to relax at the hotel, or explore the area.

Day 5

Abu Simbel & Road Trip to Luxor

After breakfast in Aswan, we will check out of our hotel and hop on a transfer to the mythical Abu Simbel, the site of two temples built by the King Ramses II, who reigned from 1279 to 1213 BCE. 

After taking in the sights, we will continue on to our next destination, Luxor.

Day 6

Nile East Bank

After breakfast in Luxor, our private transfer will take the group up Luxor’s East Bank with an unforgettable day visiting both the Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple of King Amunhotep III.

You will have the rest of the afternoon to enjoy the hotel pool, or check out the spa!

Day 7

Nile West Bank 

This morning, there will be an option sunrise hot air balloon ride.

Later, we will explore the western bank of the Nile including the Valley of the Kings, containing 62 tombs of the Pharaohs of ancient Egypt, the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the Memnon statues.

Fun fact: Queen Hatsheput – the world’s first all-powerful female leader -led the longest peaceful reign in all of Egypt’s history. Not surprising, peace was orchestrated by a woman!

After a busy week of sightseeing, we’ll take all the inspiration we learned and gather at a Farewell Goddess Dinner and our signature Black + White Party! Don your favorite black/white outfit for a chic night out connecting with the great friends you’ve made over the trip.

Day 8

Fly to Cairo for Departure

After breakfast, we will fly to Cairo to catch our international flights. Say goodbye to amazing ladies until we meet again on our next SheFari adventure!
