Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival!

Although the airport pick-up is not included a trusted transfer will be arranged according to arrival times.

Your journey starts with a traditional Balinese offering upon arrival at the hotel.

In the evening there will be a brief orientation and group dinner.

Day 2

Rice Trek & Traditional Medicine

Stretch your legs after a long day of travel! Your local guide will take you on a rice field trek through small villages all while explaining the flora and fauna of this area.

You’ll enjoy a traditional Balinese lunch before heading back to the hotel.

Day 3

Temples & Cooking Class

Today you’ll visit a few surrounding temples in the morning. Hinduism is practiced by the majority of the population, (not true in the rest of Indonesia).

Lunch will be close to town among the rice paddies.

In the late afternoon, head to a cooking class to create your scrumptious dinner!

Day 4

Batik Class & Traditional Dance

You’ll join Threads of Life as they lead an interesting and fun textile tour to traditional weavers in East Bali. This class offers a unique insight into the botany, dye processes, and practice of Indonesia’s textile traditions. Starting with an explanation of the work of the Bebali Foundation and a walk through the Bebali natural dye plant garden, you will learn about the more than a hundred plants used by traditional weavers across Indonesia to make natural dyes for cotton, silk, and other fibers.

Dinner is on your own but be ready to leave in the evening for a special dance performance by one of Bali’s finest dance and music troupes.

Day 5

Flores

Depart for Maumere, Flores. This quaint and tranquil island is an absolute paradise, sprinkled with white sand beaches, aqua crater lakes, mangroves, and traditional island villages.

It’s only a 90-minute flight and there is time in the afternoon to relax and swim at this incredible lodge.

Day 6

Snorkel and Boat Tour

Travel for the day to the islands, beaches, and world-class snorkeling sites around Maumere Bay, an area where over 1200 species of fish have been cataloged.

Rental of masks, fins, and snorkel gear are included along with a picnic lunch.

Day 7

Culture of Maumere

Visit the Bliran Sina Cultural Arts Cooperative of Watublapi, just a 30-minute drive from the hotel. Established in 1988 to rediscover, sustain, and develop regional art and culture. Bliran Sina is one of the most successful weavers’ cooperatives in Indonesia. Their success is based on the sale of their authentic natural-dyed textiles and their world-class dance and music performance.

Day 8

A Scenic Drive to Moni

This 3.5 hours drive to Moni is sure to leave you awestruck as you wind your way through spectacular mountain and coastal scenery, offering a vivid slice of life on Flores.

Lunch will be en route before arriving at our eco-lodge where there will be time to take in this incredible beauty.

Day 9

Lunch is on your own and there is an option to visit a nearby hot spring for a soak in the afternoon.

Dinner will be out in Moni.

Day 10

Beaches and BBQ

On the coastal drive back, you will stop for lunch at Paga beach.

Tonight is your last night on Flores and you’ll celebrate it with a beach BBQ!

Upon arrival back to Bali the local guide will be waiting for us. This time we will be staying in the town of Manggis.

Afternoon at your leisure.
