The seat of Thailand’s revered Royal family for more than 200 years, the Grand Palace is one of Bangkok’s most spectacular and popular attractions. One must-see attraction is the enchanting Emerald Buddha, which, according to legend, is almost 2000 years old.

After the Grand Palace, the tour continues to nearby Wat Pho -Bangkok’s oldest temple and arguably the most impressive. Home to the magnificent 45-meter-long reclining Buddha, Wat Pho is also a place of learning, having served as Thailand’s first school of traditional medicine and Thai massage.

The tour ends with a trip to Wat Trimitr, which houses the world’s largest solid gold Buddha.

Afternoon free at leisure.

Evening Tuk Tuk Food Tour

It’s time to hop on Bangkok’s iconic 3-wheel, Tuk Tuk, for a night adventure ride to visit the best local eateries around the famous street zone in town. Bangkok is claimed to be the city that never stops eating. Bangkokians usually find themselves eating out at night, especially street food, which the city is also well-known for.

Be taken for a ride and make various stops at local places in which even smells will ignite one’s taste buds. From the local favorite and best-kept-secret eat some of the best Pad Thai in town, popular for both locals and foreigners alike.

Between bites, explore the city’s largest flower market, Pak Klong Talad, which is busy 24-hours a day with wholesale vendors and local shoppers. Explore the stalls where orchids, flowers, vegetables, and other items spill over the crowded stalls. Here, there is a chance to taste some local snacks or fruits.

The night ends with a final stop outside a secret, hidden bar located by the river. Sip on a chilled Thai beer or a non-alcoholic drink while enjoying amazing night views of the Chao Phraya River along with the glittering Temple of Dawn.

After the tour finishes, be dropped off at the hotel by tuk tuk.

Chiang Rai-Chiang Mai

The Northern Thai city of Chiang Rai is steeped in tradition. There’s no better way to experience its cultural highlights than with a classical rickshaw ride through the ancient streets.

The day starts at the King Mengrai Monument. The monument pays tribute to the ruler who founded Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai and built the foundations of the Lanna Kingdom. From here, climb aboard a three-wheeled rickshaw, or ‘samlor’. This classic vehicle is the perfect way to explore Chiang Rai’s quiet streets, traveling at a slower pace and soaking up the sights and sounds.

After a 15-minute ride, stop at the local market for a visit. Browse the stalls piled high with fresh produce, joining the locals as they chat with stall owners and bargain for the best prices.

Continue by samlor to the Wat Phra Kaew temple, home to a beautiful brass and copper Buddha. Then it’s onwards to the Hilltribe Museum, which is operated by the Population & Community Development Association. Explore the impressive displays and gain wonderful insight into the colorful ethnic communities that live in the hills surrounding Chiang Rai.

Following this, continue by road for a visit to the stunning White Temple of Wat Rong Khun with its unusual, and controversial, kanok architecture.

Following this introduction to Chiang Rai, stop for lunch at Chivit Thammada. Enjoy fabulous views of the Kok River while dining on traditional Thai dishes.

After lunch, transfer to your hotel in Chiang Mai.

Sacred Monk Experience

Arrive in time to see the monks emerge from their monasteries for the daily alms collection. Witness the saffron-robed monks shuffle silently down the streets, collecting offerings from local Buddhist residents. This serene ceremony is the perfect introduction to Chiang Mai’s spiritual side.

Climb up the massive staircase to the top of Doi Suthep, admiring the Golden Naga images that line the stairs. Take a stroll around the golden stupa that sits at the center of the pagoda and admire the sweeping views of the city.

Continue along the spiritual trail with a visit to tranquil Wat Umong. Dating back to the 14th century, this sacred temple contains a network of mysterious tunnels and caves. In one of these quiet corners, receive a special blessing from a local monk.

Following this introduction to the spirituality of Northern Thailand, head to a popular local restaurant for a snack. Order a bowl of khao soi, Chiang Mai’s most famous dish which combines crispy noodles and coconut curry sauce.
